Authority of the University of Osun (UNIOSUN) has sought for more support from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The call was made recently by the institution’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC), Professor Anthony Kola-Olusanya when he led management of the citadel on a courtesy call to the State’s NSCDC Commandant, Emmanuel Ocheja
Specifically, Prof Olusanya said UNIOSUN needed NSCDC support as it would be hosting Pro-Chancellors of state owned universities in the country at the forthcoming 6th Biennial Conference.
DVC commended the Corps for its relentless efforts in securing lives and property in Osun State in general and the university community in particular.
In a statement signed by the Osun NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Atanda Olabisi, Prof Olusanya confirmed the readiness of all state owned Vice Chancellors in Nigeria and other dignitaries to participate in the actively meeting, stressing the need to beef up security in the University community ahead of the event.
The State’s NSDC Commandant, in his response expressed his delight at the visit and assured the team that his Command would always provide the necessary support before, during and after the conference.
Ocheja lauded the University for producing quality graduates who could stand shoulder tall with other graduates all over the world.
He reiterated that the Corps would not rest on its oars in securing lives and property which is the corps mandates of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
