Indeed, some attributed Soyinka’s swift reaction to the age-long rift between him and the former President, but the truth is that many, all the same, never aligned with the stance by Obasanjo that Nigerians should rather restructure their minds and mentality instead of settling for restructuring of their country.
According to Enang, restructuring is a constitutional matter and the legislature deals with review of the Constitution and should therefore, handle any issue that calls for change of law.

In his speech at the occasion, Otunba Daniel said the summit marks a watershed in the history of Nigeria’s political evolution as people from all walks of life were ably represented and spoke with one voice.
According to him, restructuring is the most topical issue in the country now, noting that it is beginning to take its consolidated position.
Amuda-Kannike told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday that the committee would create a platform for Nigerians to express their views on the issue.
