Momoh, a former Minister of Information in the Ibrahim Babangida era, died on Monday at the age of 81.
Gbajabiamila, in a congratulatory message, described the President of the Senate as a worthy partner and dependable ally in the task of nation-building.
He said Prof. Ibidapo-Obe, who died on Sunday at the age of 71, was one patriotic Nigerian who gave his best toward the development of his country.
Gbajabiamila embarked on the inspection tour of the projects to ascertain the quality and level of work done so far with a view to ensuring that the standard of work and time frame were met.
Traditional and political leaders from Epe Federal Constituency of Lagos State, who paid the Speaker a thank-you visit over the facilitation of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Epe-Ketu-Itoikin Expressway in Lagos, said Gbajabiamila has made them proud.
Gbajabiamila, who expressed sadness over the killings of the innocent rice farmers, said the incident has once again brought to the fore the need for more military action against the terrorists.
Gbajabiamila, who visited the Abuja newspapers distribution centre at Area 1 in Abuja, said Okereke, who died from a bullet fired by one of the security aides attached to his convoy, would get justice.
Speaking when he played host to a delegation of the Oil Producers Trade Section under the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gbajabiamila said the House would ensure that it passes a PIB that would be satisfactory to all.
This comes as the Speaker carried out a minor reshuffle of his team and made a few new appointments for effective delivery of his Legislative Agenda for the 9th House of Representatives.
Gbajabiamila made the announcement on Saturday in Abuja, at a national strategy retreat organised by the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly.
According to him, as presently defined in the constitution, federal character is at variance with the nation’s realities as it limits national opportunities to geographical location alone without consideration for gender, persons living with disabilities and age classification.
The Speaker, who sympathised with Nigerians from all parts of the country as a result of the killings, said the unity of the country remains non-negotiable.
The Speaker, in an address at the commencement of Tuesday’s plenary, said two weeks from now, the House will receive and immediately begin to consider legislation that seeks to establish a system of independent, responsive accountability in the police.
The Speaker also recalled that the House had on Wednesday last week urged the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, to produce an immediate plan for the identification and compensation for victims of police brutality in the country.
Gbajabiamila said the action would be in line with the House’s resolve to ensure that the lives of those reportedly killed during the protests in parts of the country did not go in vain.
