A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria who visited some of the areas, reports that personnel of the military, Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and other security agencies were stationed at the various polling units and voting points.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State says it is not comfortable with what it termed “the motive behind the planned action by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission” preparatory to the October 10, 2018 local government election in the state.
Its Chairman, Fabian Ntung, who announced the decision while briefing newsmen in Jos, said that it was “based on a communication from the Plateau State Security Council”.
The February 25, 2014 local government election in Plateau State was adjudged to be peaceful, but PLASIEC declared the result of the election in Jat Ward in Langtang North Local Government Area as inconclusive
Speaking to journalists in Jos after the court ruling over the post-election matter, presided over by Justice S. P. Gang, the Chairman of the association, Nanven John, said the outcome of the election showed Kumzhi won with a wide margin
The Chairman of the Commission, Peter Dalyop, who made the announcement in Jos, said the cancellation was in obedience of a court order
