Metuh said in a statement: “Whilst we ordinarily should not dignify the APC with a reply, we are compelled to do so because their action is a direct attack on the basic fabric of our democracy

Metuh said this was in reaction to statements credited to Governor Martins Elechi of Ebonyi State on the proposed national conference by one of his aides
Metuh said that the call by the APC was part of the party’s larger agenda to truncate the country`s democracy
The party spokesman said that what happened between the group and the APC on November 26 was not a merger

Metuh said Chukwu, by the ruling, ordered that the faction led by Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje should not be in operation and should not be recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission
