The Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday described the killing of 43 students of the Federal Government College, Buni-Yadi, Yobe State as “monstrous”.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said in a statement issued in Abuja that the development was shocking.
Metuh said the party had been grief-stricken since it received the news of the gruesome killing of the students.
He said: “The massacre of these harmless students cannot be justified under any guise. The PDP is heart-broken and extremely devastated by this act of wickedness, which can only be associated with the devil.
“The PDP bleeds inside as we mourn the slaughtering of these promising young ones. Our hearts go out to the parents and families of the innocent students.”
Metuh said the party shared in the anguish, pains and despairs of the affected parents, and prayed that those behind the act do not escape judgment for spilling the blood of the innocent.
He urged Nigerians to unite against terrorism and support the government in its effort to tackle problem of insecurity in the country.
He commiserated with the families of the slain students, the government and the people of Yobe State and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
