The Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee has debunked media reports that it has constituted a caretaker committee for the Sokoto State chapter of the party.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Olisa Metuh, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, said the report was “completely false and intended to mislead the party`s members and the general public.
“Our attention has been drawn to statements from certain quarters suggesting that the NWC has constituted a caretaker committee for the Sokoto State Chapter of our great party.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC wishes to state categorically that it has not constituted any caretaker committee for the Sokoto State chapter of the PDP.”
Metuh urged party faithful in the state and the North West geopolitical zone to disregard the statement.
He also urged members of the party to disregard those people purported to be members of the PDP caretaker committee in Sokoto State.
