The President of the association, Prof. Innocent Ujah, made the appeal during a visit by the national officers of NMA to Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau in Jos.
This was contained in a statement in Gusau on Friday by the association’s state Chairman and Secretary, Dr. Mannir Bature and Dr. Remigius Nwachukwu.
Amodu made the plea at a news conference in Abuja in response to the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors.

The association has consequently appointed its Deputy Vice Chairman, Dr. Onyekachi Ugwuonye, to act as chairman pending investigation of the matter by the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the association.
Dr. Kolade Solagberu, NMA Chairman, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Monday in Ilorin on events heralding the association’s 2020 Annual General Meeting.
The NMA also called the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and other stakeholders to look at the issue.
