This loss is no doubt a huge surprise but going by the several warnings sent to former President George Weah before the first round of elections through popular prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele, one can conclude that the president brought this fall upon himself.

The President also congratulated President-elect Joseph Boakai, who won the mandate of the people.

He struggled to have 43 percent in the poll, with his closest opponent, Joseph Boakai, having almost the same point.

In a nationwide broadcast from his party’s headquarters in Monrovia on Friday, Boakai, who was flanked by his supporters and party leaders, said he had already called Weah to congratulate him.

The first round of election in Liberia did not end conclusively as two candidates – star footballer George Wear and Vice President Joseph Boakai – are drawn for a runoff.
