Speaking while signing the new law in his office, Governor Ahmed said the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service is a corporate body with the sole responsibility for effective collection and management of state and local council revenues
He said: “At a time like this when our state, and indeed our country is passing through dire economic challenges due to the slump in national earnings, national rebirth through good governance, Allah’s intervention in guiding our leaders in rejuvenating the economy and rebirth is crucial.”

“We need to generate more efficiency in tax collection, improve process of tax administration and management in order to create more funds to drive infrastructural development in the state,” the governor said
