In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday, President of JIFORM, Ajibola Abayomi, said the invitees were crucial to the advancement of advocacy on migration matters as the media body targets the production of a glossary of migration terminologies for over 10,000 journalists and media organisations across Africa and other continents.

Olatubosun stated this while featuring on a radio interview programme on Pensioners’ FM in Ibadan on Saturday, adding that the present administration would rather complete the projects to impact positively on the people of the State.

The governor stated that the commission, headed by Isiaka Olagunju, has been saddled with the responsibility of overseeing an election which outcome will reflect the will of the people.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the first phase of the project handled by Messrs Ledco Allied Enterprises was flagged off in Ibadan in September 2019 and has reached 87.5 per cent completion.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan recently affirmed the sack of the former council chiefs by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde on May 29, 2019.

In approving the increased funding, the governor stated that the teaching hospital would be in a position to continuously pay the new minimum wage, offset the 2016 and 2017 arrears of salaries, and enlist the 177 re-engaged workers on the wage list.

This came two months after the government gave an automatic employment to the wife of the deceased, Yetunde Adeniran, at The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, said in a statement on Sunday that the state government was appreciative of the commitment of the teachers to its programmes.

The Governor said the state will not stand by and watch its indigenes suffer dehumanisation under any guise.

Governor Makinde said this in a Sallah message made public and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, on Thursday.

The governor, who stated this while performing the swearing-in ceremony of the former State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo, as a Permanent Secretary, said those seeking to always x-ray his appointments through religious and ethnic binoculars were wasting their time.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, stated that the current administration in Oyo State was set to remodel health facilities in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

The Islamic human rights organisation said in response to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Makinde, Taiwo Adisa, denying the sidelining of Muslims of Oyo State.

According to Salami, the decision underscores the governor’s philosophy of reinforcing the education sector in the state with qualified hands towards moving it forward.

The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, said this on Monday during inspection of some selected Primary schools within Ibadan metropolis.

The governor, who was accompanied on the trip to Agbami by his Deputy, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, and other top government functionaries, stated that the welfare of frontline workers in the battle against COVID-19 will remain top on his administration’s agenda.

His tenure as Governor was quite controversial with mixed results and divided opinions. He was a very frank and outspoken Governor who was also very conscious of his social status and the powers attached to his office. He was also quite audacious. He engaged the Olubadan in an open battle when he chose in one instance to transform some high chiefs of the Olubadan-in-council into beaded kings.

Governor Makinde, who described the late Parakoyi of Ibadanland and Chairman of Modandola Group as a worthy elder statesman and someone who is genuinely interested in the wellbeing of others, said the late businessman will be sorely missed.

Makinde further called on members of the committee to reconcile all aggrieved party members, promising to ensure that all legitimate concerns within the party are addressed.
