The event, which is open to talented young boxers between the ages of 18 and 25, will be declared open on Friday and run till Saturday.
According to a statement issued by Flykite Promotions, organisers of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search, the programme will hold at Walan Hotel (formerly D’Rovans Hotel), Ring Road, Ibadan.
The three boxers were voted by journalists as the best boxers at the event, which held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos on Sunday.
The event, tagged: “Independence Edition,” will witness the biggest ever pay-out in the history of Nigerian boxing, as the boxers will earn a total of N20 million in prize monies. The best boxer of the event will win N2.5 million and the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy, while the two runners-up will win N1 million and N500,000 respectively.
The decoders will be won by fans at the event through random draws to be held between bouts.
Speaking in Lagos on Monday, Jenkins Alumona, the Managing Director, Flykite Promotions, explained that fans have nothing to fear when they come for the event taking place on 1 October.

The new opponent, Israel Kammwamba of Malawi, replaces South Africa’s Dillon Youle who pulled out from the fight on account of injury.

The duo will go head-to head in a national light heavyweight challenge bout, one of the seven clashes scheduled for the event
