The third edition of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search, the talent hunt initiative, kicked off at Wallan Hotel, Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday.
The event, which is open to talented young boxers between the ages of 18 and 25, will be declared open on Friday and run till Saturday.
About 300 boxers are expected to storm the event from across the country.
The boxers will take part in sparring sessions through which they will be assessed by accomplished boxing coaches.
Among these are Joe Mensah, Obisia Nwakpa and Jerry Okorodudu.
Boxers from outside Ibadan and its environs, who are selected by the coaches, will have their accommodation paid for by Flykite Productions, the organisers.
The first two editions of the event took place in Lagos and was attended by over 200 boxers from across the country.
Many of those discovered at the event have fought at GOtv Boxing Night. They include Rilwan “BabyFace” Babatunde, Matthew Obinna and Osamudiamen. “Shiso” Goodluck.
