The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Government had filed two separate charges against Evans.
In the first charge, Evans was docked with one Victor Aduba on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms.

Evans had at his arraignment on August 30 plead guilty to the charges
Joined in the suit are the Inspector General of Police, Lagos State Police Commissioner and Inspector Christian, an Investigating Police Officer with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad
Evans is seeking N300 million damages for his alleged illegal detention
Justice Mohammed Idris, who gave the order, said Obiechina must be brought before him on October 12.
Evans is to be arraigned at an Ikeja High Court in Lagos State following the conclusion of investigation by the police.
Evans, who was arrested by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team two months ago, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, has been accused of involvement in several high profile kidnapping cases
The Police spokesman, Moshood Jimoh, said investigation has also led to the arrest of more associates of Evans who were found to be probably wealthier and living bigger than him
Justice Abdulazeez Anka, who gave the ruling, however, warned Evan’s lawyer to desist from “practices unbecoming of a legal practitioner”.
