In a statement on Monday by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the organization said it was “most shameful, most reprehensible and most preposterous” for a sitting governor to have joined protesters on the streets of Ibadan (the Oyo State capital) chanting: “Buhari Must Go.”

Scores of motorcycle-riding gunmen called bandits earlier on Thursday through Friday invaded the villages of Kadawa, Kwata, Maduba, Ganda Samu, Saulawa and Askawa in the Zurmi district, shooting residents.

The caucus in a statement signed by Ndudi Elumelu, the Minority Leader of the house, said “the show of brute hostility and violent assault on Nigerians by the security forces is condemnable, unjustifiable and at total variance with fundamental democratic ethos of freedom of expression as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution (as amended).”
