Speaking at the brief but impressive ceremony held at the Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja, Governor Ambode said the position of Permanent Secretary was very crucial to the smooth running of government machinery, and as such the new appointees must justify the confidence reposed in them by making positive difference especially in the manner through which responsibilities are discharged.

Ambode said this at the first quarter Town Hall Meeting in 2018, the 10th in the series since his assumption of office, held at De Blue Roof, LTV Complex in Agidingbi, Ikeja.
The Governor, who spoke at the foundation laying ceremony of the J.K. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Onikan, Lagos, said the Centre was part of a grand plan by his administration to turn the Onikan axis into a critical tourist hub, not just in the country but in the continent.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ambode said the Safety Arena comprised of all the departments and agencies responsible for safety and emergency management under one roof.
Ambode declared his position on Tuesday when Adams, who is the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress and Founder of the Oodua Progressive Union, paid him a courtesy call.
Ambode said this at the State’s 2018 Annual Thanksgiving Service held at the Lagos House in Ikeja, with the theme: “Ceaseless Praise.”
Ambode, accompanied by key members of his cabinet, said the 1.4km flyover, which will run from Agege down to the Abeokuta Expressway, will be a key intervention strategy by his administration to address the perennial traffic associated with the area.
Gani said the party had mapped out strategies to unseat the ruling party, adding: “With the new spirit in PDP in Lagos, we are sure of winning in 2019.”
Ambode also advised expectant mothers in the State to justify government’s huge investment in maternal and infant health care by staying away from quacks and patronizing government’s health care facilities.
Governor Ambode, in his New Year message, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, said that while the outgoing year witnessed a massive leap in terms of infrastructural development in the State, some of the reforms in key sectors of the economy will take full flight from the beginning of 2018.
An array of A-list artistes, a new set of talented youths that emerged from the Lagos Grows Talent competition and a spectacular display of fireworks are some of the “special effects” lined up for the countdown concert, which will usher in the new year and draw the star-studded fiesta to a close at the Eko Atlantic City in Victoria Island, Agege Stadium, Ikorodu Town Hall, Badagry Grammar School and Epe Marina waterfront.

A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, said the latest donation to security agencies was part of the token to appreciate law enforcement agents for their commitment and sacrifice to ensure security of lives and property in the State.
The Governor, who was represented at the handing over ceremony by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Chief of Staff, Oluseyi Whenu, said the presentation of the materials was to protect officers of RRS, who themselves have been helping to protect lives.
