The National Delegates Conference of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria has been re-scheduled for March 28 to 30, 2013 in Makurdi Benue State.
It would be recalled that Benue State was awarded the hosting right, but the event suffered postponement due to some logistics problems.
But sequel to a letter to the national SWAN by the Benue State chapter, signed by the Chairman and the Secretary, Emmanuel Uja and Abrahams Ochife, they hope to get the needed fund and other logistics for the three-day conference to be held in Makurdi.
According to the letter: “We are prepared to provide a conducive environment for the election.”
About 36 candidates, including the incumbent President, Saidu Abubakar, are jostling to compete in the election.
Meanwhile, a statement by the SWAN Head of Information and Strategy, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said all the delegates from the 36 states and the FCT, including the National Officers, SWANECO members, observers and invited personalities are expected to arrive the North Central city of Makurdi on March 28.
The delegates’ meeting and election hold on March 29 while the departure date is March 30.
Chukwuemeka saluted the Benue State chapter for their efforts towards hosting the event.
