A Stoke City fan is in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during their game against Liverpool on Sunday.
This was confirmed by a spokesperson of the ambulance service that took the fan to the hospital.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We had a call just before 5.50pm on Sunday to a male in cardiac arrest.
“A defibrillator was used at the stadium by paramedics and the man started breathing.
“Ambulance crews at the stadium treated the man and he was transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance with treatment ongoing.
“Whilst the man was breathing on arrival at hospital he was in a critical condition.”
