The mother of slain Lagos lawyer, Mrs. Ishola, has broken her silence over the gruesome killing of her daughter, Omobolanle Raheem, by Assistant Superintendent of Police Drambi Vandi.
Raheem, nee Ishola, was shot by Vandi, who is attached to Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, Lagos State on Sunday.
She was shot in the presence of her husband and other family members while on their way to buy pizza after church service.
The police had flagged down the car and shot her in the chest before her husband, who was driving at the time, could find a place to park.
Ishola, speaking in Yoruba language with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, at the family house of the deceased in Lekki Gardens on Tuesday, lamented how she suffered to train her child until she became a lawyer and successful in life.
She said: “I suffered in lack and want, hawking for my daughter to become a graduate of Law.
“I hawked oranges to ensure she had a good education and today, I can’t find her again.
“She was not sick, she had no pain, she just disappeared like that.
“On a Christmas Day when everybody was happy, my daughter just disappeared without suffering any sickness.
“Oh, Commissioner, it is not easy.”
Alabi was on a condolence visit to the Raheems.
He was with the Public Relations Officer of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-iwoye, Ogun State, Bello Kazeem, who is a lawyer; and Eniola Onaolapo and Ajibola Ajiboye, also both lawyers.
