A serving senator from Plateau State is feared dead in the crisis rocking the state.
The senator, representing Plateau North Senatorial District, Senator Gyang Dantong, was said to be attending the mass burial of the over 50 persons reportedly killed in the house of a pastor in Matse area of Riyom in Plateau State.
Dantong was said to be at the burial with the members of the House of Representatives and House of Assembly for the area.
The burial was in progress when suspected Fulani men stormed the venue, shooting sporadically.
Though sources said none of the lawmakers was hit by bullets, Dantong reportedly fainted as a result of the shock.
He was rushed to the hospital.
Hospital sources told The Eagle Online that the senator is feared dead.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, the 50 corpses were discovered in the house of a pastor said to belong to the Church of Christ in Nigeria.
They were reported to be persons suspected killed by Fulani attackers who fled to the house of the pastor to seek refuge.
