A video of villagers in Dagbalodo Community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State digging up holes in the mud with their fingers for dirty water has emerged.
According to the commentary on the video, which went viral over the weekend, the mud water is used for drinking and cooking.
It is also used for other household activities such as bathing and washing of clothes.
In the video, an interpreter, who captured the scene, said the villagers dig the holes and scoop the dirty water, which has accumulated, into a bowl, and then wait for it to accumulate again.
He stated that during dry season, the women can dig for five hours to get water that will fill up their bowls.
