Armed robbers operating on a motorcycle have shot dead the Circulation Representative of Sun newspapers in Onitsha, Anambra State, Fabian Obi.
The three armed men carried out their operation at about 9:20am, robbing the circulation representative and vendors who were in his office along Old Market Road, Onitsha.
The vendors were making payment for their weekend sales when the armed robbers arrived and ordered them to bring out the money they had on them.
They also ordered the deceased to hand over the money he had collected.
He initially resisted the order, but on threatening him with their guns, he handed over the money.
The Police Area Commander for Onitsha, Abubakar Yahaya, confirmed the incident.
Yahaya, who was also at the mortuary where Obi’s corpse was taken, expressed shock on the development.
He said the Police will do everything to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.
