The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday solicited for the creation of state police as way of combating the issue of insecurity across the country.
The Vice President made this known during a security summit organized by the Senate ad-hoc committee on Insecurity, held in Abuja.
According to Osinbajo, there is no way a centralised police force can effectively police the country, adding: “So the way to go now is community and state police.
He also admitted that on the issue of security, the Federal Government has failed .
