It was praises galore for the Africa Movies Academy Awards as it held its 2014 edition on Saturday.
The 2014 edition is the 10th year of the award.
The eulogies came from prominent movie actors and producers, as South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana dominated the 2014 awards.
Former President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Segun Arinze, said AMAA had achieved great feat.
Arinze said: “I am happy to be one of the hosts tonight.
“It’s a thing of honour for me.
“For AMAA at 10 years, it’s a great feat for the organisers because over the last 10 years, they have done remarkably well celebrating African film makers and in the Diaspora with their artistic works.
“And for Nollywood, we are evolving.”
A prominent Nigerian actor, Desmond Eliot, had this to say: “AMAA is now the replicate of Oscar Awards in Africa, celebrating movie acts in the continent.
“The foremost movie award has come to stay in Africa.
“We are proud.”
Aishat Abimbola said AMAA has become a brand name.
Abimbola said: “I am happy this is happening in Nigeria and I must confess AMAA has done well in their last 10 years of existence not only Nigeria but Africa.
“We all have leveraged on the AMAA platform in no small measure to enhance our career and it has become a brand in the movie world.
“I don’t miss AMAA because I see it as a veritable channel for our chosen career.
“Long live AMAA, long live Nigeria.”
