The Progressive Peoples Alliance has reconstituted the executive committee of the Enugu State chapter of the party.
A statement by the National Secretary of PPA, Comrade Peter Ameh, said Chief Augustin Ude, a one-time stalwart of the Congress for Progressive Change, is now the Enugu State chairman of the party while Maurice Okey Udenta is the deputy chairman, Enugu West Senatorial District.
According to Ameh, the new executive committee would remain in place until congresses are conducted at the state, local government and ward levels.
He therefore charged the new chairman to ensure that he carries everybody along in his decisions as he restrategises for the forthcoming local government election in Enugu State.
He said the performance of the new executive committee would be measured by the number of seats the party captures in the local government election.
Meanwhile, Ude has sent a get-well-quick message to Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State.
In the message, Ude said all well meaning people of Enugu State must pray to God to prolong the life the governor, whom he described as the best performing governor in the South East.
Ude said his party will have one or two things to learn from Chime when PPA takes over the seat of power in Enugu State in 2015.
