The Yobe State Police Command says it has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the February 9 communal clash in Gamazan village, Jakusko Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s Spokesman, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Damaturu on Thursday,
Abdulkarim said the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
He said that two persons were killed and one other sustained injuries during the clash, which began in a farmland and later escalated to other parts of the village.
The police spokesman, however, said that calm had been restored to the area following the deployment of policemen to maintain law and order.
Abdulkarim warned residents of the area against violence, saying anyone caught would be made to face the wrath of the law.
