The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, has approved the appointment of Izam Azi as the Acting Head of the Civil Service of Plateau State.
The appointment is with immediate effect.
A press statement issued by the Director of Press and Publications, Emmanuel Nanle, said Azi, who until his appointment was the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration.
Azi has taken over from Barrister Huldah Fwangchi, who has proceeded on retirement in line with the extant Public Service Law and Civil Service Rule.
Lalong wished Fwangchi the best that the future holds for her, as well as expressed his profound appreciation on behalf of the Government and People of Plateau State for her years of meritorious professional service.
According to the statement, some of the benefits his administration has had in Fwanchi’s intervention is the resolution of the labour unrest inherited and the reorganization of the Civil Service, which she had kick started in line with the All Progressives Congress Civil Service Reform Programme.
The statement added: “Mr Izam Azi mni is expected with this appointment to bring his wealth of experience garnered over the years to bear in positioning the State Civil Service for excellence and professionalism in Service delivery.”
