A tanker laden with petrol crashed in Lagos on Thursday evening.
The tanker crashed on the notorious bridge opposite Michael Otedola Estate on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
This has led to gridlock as at press time.
The Federal Road Safety omission said the tanker was involved in a multiple accident with other vehicles.
According to information from the FRSC, other vehicles involved are FKJ 167 AK, a Skoda Saloon car; AH 723 SMK, a Land Rover Jeep; KSF 806 XC, Volvo truck; and XB 166 NGL, the petrol tanker.
Commuters and motorists are stranded on the road (some of them discussing on the road in the accompanying photograph).
The FRSC said traffic had been diverted from the Lagos-Ibadan section of the road to the Ibadan-Lagos end.
Several accidents have occurred on the road in the past few months.
One of them led to the death of a woman when a fuel laden tanker fell on a bus in which she was riding.
