PDP loses 2,000 members to ACN in Etsako Central

Over 2,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State have decamped to the Action Congress of Nigeria.
The former members of the PDP, drawn from the two wards of Iraokhor (Ward 5) and Fugar (Ward 3), were received by Governor Adams Oshiomhole and other party elders and leaders from the local government into the ACN.

Oshiomhole noted that there was a wind of progress and development blowing across the state, which required the support of all citizens to sustain.
According to the governor: “What we have achieved so far is the result of almost two and a half years of work, having lost a year when the House of Assembly was in opposition hands.
“We will increase our speed to be able to do more when we get a second tenure.”
Oshiomhole commended the people of Iraokhor and Fugar for their continued support and pledged that his administration would provide additional infrastructural development in the two communities, including the provision of school furniture, construction of Iraokhor-Apana and Iraokhor-Ogbona roads, the renovation of Imakhena Primary School as well as the provision of water boreholes in Fugar within the next four weeks.
He told the people that the next governorship election would be a choice between good and evil, between visible development and empty rhetoric, which the opposition party had fed people of the state in the past.
Leader of the team moving into the ACN from Iraokhor, Aloaye Enamino, a former PDP ward chairman, said they decided to join the ACN in order to be identified with the progressive administration of Oshiomhole.
Enamino noted that the government of Oshiomhole had done a lot to make the lives of the people of Iraokhor better, pointing out that the construction of blocks of classrooms for Iraokhor Secondary School, provision of a 500KVA electricity transformer as well as the provision of potable water were indelible foot prints planted in the community by the governor.
He urged all those still in the opposition to join the ACN train to ensure total victory for the party in the July 14, 2012 governorship election in the state.
The PDP Ward 3 Woman Leader, Chief Angelina Sugaba, who led the decampees from Fugar, said she was motivated by the giant developmental strides of Oshiomhole.
Leaders of the ACN who attended the reception for the decampees included Chief Jossy Akhigbe Alemoh; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Lucky James; Chairman of BIR, Chief Oseni Elama; Alhaji Waziri Oshomah; Mr. Paul Osugbo; Hon. Johnson Oghuma of the state House of Assembly; and other top party and government functionaries.
