The Peoples Democratic Party has adopted Senator Bukola Saraki for the position of Senate President.
In the same vein, the PDP has adopted Hon. Yakubu Dogara for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
This position was contained in a statement late on Monday by the PDP.
The statement was signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online on Monday, Saraki and Dogara have been meeting with members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of the PDP in order to thwart the alleged imposition of Senator Ahmad Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the sole candidates for the positions of Senate president and speaker by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress.
Based on the adoption, the PDP in the statement by Metuh said: “The party therefore urges its senators and members-elect in the National Assembly to act accordingly.”
