The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State Hon. Damishi T. Sango, says the present administration in Plateau state lacks capacity to provide the much needed leadership in the state.
Sango who disclosed this in a press statement on Friday, noted that even those who were instrumental to the emergence of the present administration in the state, have not hidden their disappointment and displeasure at the turn of events.
The PDP stated, “Since Evangelist Emmanuel Nanle condemned the briefing as lacking substance, while failing to provide figures or substance in defense of the unnecessary costs incurred by the administration in the last one year, we shall go ahead and add verve to the issues raised at the press briefing.
“But just before we present some details, it is instructive to note that contrary to Evangelist Nanle’s assertion that the procurement of the vehicles, installation of GPRS tracking devices, insurance and sundry expenditures followed due process, we wish to state categorically that they were carried out at a time when the State Executive Council, and by extension, the State Tenders Board was not in place; those activities were given anticipatory approval and merely validated in retrospect”.
The statement alleged that the government in the past one year in office has purchased various brands of Luxury and other cars for use by government functionaries and some select party officials by Kefiano Global concept limited at the total coat of N 1,201,199, 700.00 ( One Billion, Two Hundred and Ten Million, One Hundred and Ninety – Nine Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira) only.

We wish to give yet another poser as we conclude: Is it not true that some functionaries of the Lalong Government, his relations and Party Officials are under investigation by the EFCC?
“While we don’t desire to join issues with the Governor’s Director of Press Affairs, we wish to advise that he understands and have a grasp of issues in contention before rushing to the media.
“For instance we had thought he would give the exact expenses on the Governor’s foreign trips to counter the figures given by the Chairman rather than embark on his usual turanci.
Finally, we call on the APC –led administration to concentrate on providing democratic dividends rather than embark on fruitless adventurism”.
