Our vigorous investment drive remains top priority – Aregbesola

The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said that the investment drive of his administration is aimed at fast tracking and repositioning the economy of the state.
In a statement on Tuesday by the Director, Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Office of the Governor, Semiu Okanlawon, Aregbesola was quoted as speaking in Accra, Ghana at the turning of sod of the RLG Information Communications Technology Park, christened Hope City.
The governor noted that repositioning the state and making it conducive for business will make the state attractive to willing investors.
He said the “efforts of government in investment drive is already yielding positive results with the siting of an arm of the ICT park in the state of Osun.”
Aregbesola also added that the collaboration with the biggest ICT company in Africa started barely a 100 days after his assumption of office as governor, noting that 20,000 youths of the state will be trained in ICT in Ghana by the ICT giant.
In his words: “We in the State of Osun identify the importance of ICT, recognises the global acceptability hence the collaboration and the administration’s resolve to key into it for economic re-integration of our State.”
He promised that his administration will continuously explore the endless opportunities in ICT.
Responding, President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana applauded the $10 billion ICT project as one in line with the government’s commitment to working with the private sector to facilitate growth and secure future of the economy.
Mahama promised that the Government of Ghana will grant tax exemption for infrastructural project like the ICT park.
