The Osun State chapter of the Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC), under the leadership of Mr. Wale Adebayo, has condemned the recent armed robbery attack on a branch of Wema Bank in Iragbiji.
Armed robbers broke into a branch of Wema Bank in Iragbiji, headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, on Tuesday, on Tuesday 28th September, 2021, killing two policemen, identified as Ogunbiyi Ahmed and Inspector Odeyemi Ayinla.
Disturbed by the constant bank robberies in Osun State, IPAC restated its call for a security summit to proffer solutions to the incessant robbery attacks on banks in the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by its chairman, Mr. Wale Adebayo, IPAC condoled with the families of the police officers and the rank and file of the police command in the state
PAC reaffirmed its plans to convene a security summit to hammer out a set of working principles to nip in the bud major security challenges in the state.
The IPAC chairman said the summit would bring together leading academics, security experts, research scholars, traditional rulers, as well as representatives of banks and hoteliers, to exchange and share experiences and research results on how well to manage all aspects of community policing and terrorism prevention, strategy and policy.
The IPAC chairman then called for the urgent intervention of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and other security operatives in the state to put an end to the incessant robbery attacks in the state.
