Lille striker Victor Osimhen is expected to open contractual talks with with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis in Naples on Wednesday (today).
Osimhen and his management team met with coach Rino Gattuso and Napoli directors on Tuesday over a potential move.
Osita Okolo, a member of Osimhen’s entourage, told Radio Punto Nuovo: “Yesterday, when he arrived in Naples, we headed straight for the first meeting.
“Along the way, he watched people on the city streets and admitted that he had been positively impressed.
“He then met Italian coach (Rino) Gattuso: they talked about the Napoli project and he was also very impressed here.
“Today he will meet with the president, Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“What if Victor loved the city?
“Absolutely, he was impressed with Naples and its people, although the visit to the city was short.
“However, everything went in the right direction.
“Now just make a decision about the boy’s future.
“Osimhen-mania?
“I don’t know what Napoli fans think of him.
“I knew that everyone who crossed paths with him was very happy to see him in the city.
“And I think it’s a very nice way to be Neapolitans.
“I am convinced that fans would also like Victor’s play style very much and this could positively influence the final decision.
“When for the agreement with Napoli?
“The impressions were very positive.
“He is certainly already very happy that a club like the Azzurri is so interested in Victor.
“Serie A, being a striker from Naples, would always be an important step for a young footballer like him.
“I haven’t spoken to Victor yet this morning, but we’re waiting for the meeting with De Laurentiis to understand what’s going to happen.
“Will there be problems between the two parties?
“I don’t think there will be a problem between Napoli and Lille.
“I think they will soon find a formal agreement.
“Everything is now turning to convince Victor 100 per cent of the transfer.
“Let us see what the meeting today will bring in this direction.”
