Ondo poll: Accusations, counter-accusations raise tension

Tension has risen in the ongoing governorship election in Ondo State, following accusations and counter-accusations by the major political parties and actors in the poll.
And the social media, especially Facebook and the Blackberry Messenger, have been awash with so many allegations, from the sublime to the ridiculous.
One of such allegations was the arrest of Chief Donald Omotayo Alasoadura, the Director General of the campaign organisation of the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu.
Alasoadura was alleged to have been in possession of cash of over N7 million when he was arrested.
Also having gone viral on the social media on Saturday morning was the purported arrest of the Ondo State Commissioner for Special Duties, Niran Sule, and the Interim Chairman of Owo Local Government Area, Hon. Tunji Ojomo.
Sule and Ojomo were reported to have been caught with arms and ammunition.
The Ondo State Government has denied the arrest of the duo.
So also has the Rotimi Akeredolu Campaign Organisation debunked the news of the arrest of Alasoadura.
Meanwhile the Independent National Electoral Commission has released telephone numbers for the public to call to make complaints as regard the Ondo State gubernatorial election.
The lines, described as being strictly for the poll, are: 07098115592, 07098117563, 07098114865, 07098115257 and 07098110916.
Accreditation for the election has since commenced in most parts of the state.
Akeredolu is reported to be at his ward at Akinlabi Iworoko area of Owo for accreditation.
