A former Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Ondo State during late Governor Adebayo Adefarati’s administration, Dr. Akerele Adu, is dead.
Barely two days after the state lost an immediate past Commissioner for Information, Ranti Akerele, the news of Adu’s death came as a shock as the state was still mourning.
Before his death, Adu was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.
He died at 84 after a brief illness at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital.
Confirming his death, the Secretary of Ondo Opinion Leaders, Abayomi Adesanya, said the news came as a shock to them.
Adesanya said that Adu normally visits OAUTHC for medical check-up, stressing that he died when the party was seriously in need of his leadership style.
He described the deceased as a humble and straight forward person, who will never compromise and always respect people’s opinions.
