Ex-international, Sunday Oliseh, hit hard on Egyptian referee, Grisha Ghead, for awarding a controversial penalty against Super Eagles during Friday’s African Nations Cup match against Zambia.
In a post match analysis, Oliseh posited that the referee’s decision was too harsh and unjustifiable.
He said: “That was not a penalty.
“That is why we don’t get to see African referees in World Cup.
“There is no concerted effort to blow against us (Nigeria).
“It bothers on competency.
“We saw it in the game involving Ghana.”
The former Super Eagles captain blamed technical deficiency for Nigeria’s failure to grab the maximum points.
The former international said that he had expected the coaches to tighten the back line after shooting into the lead rather than opting for attacking pattern against the defending champions.
He said: “We can continue to make the same mistakes over and over.
“It was the same mistake we made in the first match.
“I still believe we (Nigeria) will qualify for the next round.”
