The Ogun State government and the management of the Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) have expressed sadness over the fire that gutted the OPIC Plaza, along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja on Thursday night.
A tanker conveying Liquefied Petroleum Products exploded in motion in front of the OPIC Plaza on Thursday night, injuring 13 people and razing 25 vehicles.
The OPIC Plaza and other business outfits in the facility were also affected.
A statement on Friday by the Special Adviser/Managing Director, Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), Abiodun Fari-Arole, described the incident as “very unfortunate.”
“Our sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the fire incident.
“We must commend the efforts of the Fire Service men who promptly responded when they were called upon. We also appreciate the efforts of security officials who did not allow hoodlums to take advantage of the incident,” he said.
