The Plateau State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers says it has adopted stringent measures to secure motor parks against bomb or other attacks.
Austin Robert, a senior official of the union, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the measures included thorough checks on persons and vehicles before they were allowed into the parks.
Robert also said passengers would be checked before departure.
He said: “We also have plain clothes security officers who monitor the movement of people in and around the parks.
“We have also installed gadgets in the parks to capture any suspected act of terrorism.”
Robert said that passengers had also been advised to be very vigilant and to report any suspicious act to the security at the park.
The official added that the union was working very closely with security agencies to ensure that adequate security personnel were deployed to motor parks to avert the unknown.
NAN reports that bomb blasts recently hit two areas in Jos North, while another incident was averted on Sunday when security men discovered and defused bombs, one of which was hidden in a toilet at ECWA Church, Tudun-Wada, Jos.
