NPA, Army college, to sustain collaboration on training

The Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority says it is desirous of sustaining the existing collaboration with the Army college on training to enhance its logistics.
The Executive Director Engineering and Technical Services, NPA, Prof. Idris Abubakar, made the remark when a team led by the Commandant of the college, Maj-Gen. Richard Duru, visited the NPA headquarters on Monday in Lagos.
Abubakar said in order to standardise operations at the seaports, the Authority would tap the wide knowledge of logistics professionals in the Nigerian Army.
He said the Managing Director of NPA, Hadiza Usman, had provided the platform for information sharing by the agencies.
The Commandant of the Army College of Logistics, Maj.-Gen. Richard Duru, said being a hub for national logistics supply chain, the NPA deserved support to ensure that necessary variables were deployed.
Duru said the Army College of Logistics would be ready to partner the NPA and other government agencies in offering training facilities and enhance logistics at the ports.
The commandant was optimistic that the NPA management would surpass the expectations of stakeholders, said a statement by NPA’s Spokesman, Malam Isa Suwaid.
