The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy and sunny weather conditions with localised thunderstorms over most parts of the country on Tuesday.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Monday predicted partly cloudy morning over the central cities with day and night temperatures of 30 to 37 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
It added that thundery activities were expected over places like Abuja, Makurdi, Lokoja, Lafia, Jos and Mambilla Plateau later in the day with partly cloudy conditions over the rest of the region.
The agency predicted that Northern States would experience cloudy morning except places like Calabar, Eket, Port-Harcourt, Uyo, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode and Benin where thunderstorms are expected in the morning.
NiMet predicted: “Thunderstorms are likely over most places in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience partly cloudy weather during the morning hours except Port Harcourt, Calabar and Eket where localized thunderstorms are expected.
It added: “Later in the day, there are chances of scattered thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 30 to 33 and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
“There are prospects of partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over most parts of the country with chances of thunderstorms over few places in the next 24 hours.”
