Patients on admission at the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, now carry water in jerry cans to the hospital.
Information available to The Eagle Online had it that this followed the breakdown of the borehole in the hospital.
According to a source, the only borehole that serves the hospital broke down about one week ago.
Some patients, it was learnt, go out to buy water from vendors, even at night.

Taking advantage of the situation, the water vendors now occupy the front gate of the hospital, waiting for patronage.
The Post Office Roundabout, where the hospital is located, has become a beehive of activities for the water vendor.
