Senator Nkechi Nwaogu says despite its many challenges, Nigeria has achieved a lot in its 61 years as a nation.
The senator who represented Abia Central Senatorial District, made the comments in her congratulatory message to Nigerians on the celebration of Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary.
In a statement by her Special Assistant Media and Publicity, Onyendi Victor Kelechi, Senator Nwaogu said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has done tremendously well in the areas of poverty alleviation, through the introduction of social investment schemes like Tradermoni, N-Power, Federal School Feeding Scheme, Federal Works Programme, National Survival Programme and recently the Nigeria Jubilee Fellowship Programme, among others.
Popularly called Ugonwanyi ndi Igbo, Senator Nwaogu noted that although Nigeria has encountered trial moments, especially in the areas of insecurity, insurgency and health issues, she expressed confidence that the current administration is equal to the task.
She prayed that God would continue to protect the leaders and citizens of the country to overcome the trying period of insecurity and COVID-19 resurgence.
