NFF earmarks N286.2m for Oliseh, others

The recurring disappointment over the arrears of salaries for the national team coaches seems to be a thing of the past as the Nigeria Football Federation has set aside a whooping sum of N286.2 million as amount for payment of national team coaches in the 2016 football year.
According to the budget estimate the football federation presented to the National Assembly and reflected in its Annual General Assembly document under the caption 2016 Budget Summary Sporting Activities, the Glass House however did not give a breakdown of whether the arrears of 2015 was captured in the amount set aside.
Already projecting its future, the federation equally earmarked a staggering N53.8 million to bankroll the 2016 AGA in anticipation that state governments might avoid them as they did this year, just as it increased the amount to prosecute the Federation Cup by 100 per cent, taking from N100 million this year to N220 million.
In line with its resolve to give more attention to grassroots football, the football federation allocated the sum totalling N115 million to bankroll all the soccer activities involving the national U-13, U-15 youth championship, tagging it grassroots.
Revealing that it is expecting a total sum of N6,370,878,393 as subvention from the Federal Government, the federation gave the breakdown as N5,862,102,009 as sporting activities, N324,795,509 as sum for recurrent expenditure, adding that capital expenditure will gulp N183,979,875.
On the sponsorship profile, the Glass House disclosed that it intends to generate N905,250,000 from local sponsors, international bodies and local competitions.
While revealing that it intends to haul N385 million from sponsors like telecoms outfit, Globacom, N290 million from Guiness, N1 million from Brila FM, N70 million from Malta Guinness, it will rake in N35 million and N11 million from others like Emzor and IGI respectively.
From local competitions like Protest and Appeal fees and income from the league, the federation reveals that it intends to earn a total sum of N34.5 million, breaking it down as N1.5 million protest fees, N3 million Appeal and N30 million from perhaps the League Management Company.
The Amaju Pinnick-led executive board further revealed that it intends to rake in N78.750 million from international bodies, detailing it as $250,000 (about N56.250 million at N225 per dollar exchange rate), $100,000 (N22.5 million at N225 per dollar exchange rate) as financial assistance programme and annual grants from the world soccer governing body, FIFA and the Confederation of Africa Football respectively.
