New DG of ITF resumes

The Newly appointed Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, Juliet Chukas-Onaeko, has sued for partnership among the staff in developing the need-based training programme of the fund.
Chukas-Onaeko, at the official assumption of office on Monday at the ITF headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, said the partnership would drive the economy to create jobs in the organized private sector as well as develop competencies of youth to be to be self-reliant and self-employed
She disclosed that though the task has enormous challenges, with the input of the staff, it could be achieved.
Promising that she would build on the successes recorded by her predecessor towards an enhanced robust organization, Chukas-Onaeko said the staff have a crucial role to play.
In his hand over note, the former DG, Prof. Longmas Wapmuk, commended the previous and the present management teams for their cooperation and support.
Wapmuk said this was the reason for the successes recorded by the fund.
He announced that his administration was able to leave in the account of the ITF N10 billion, stressing that this was achieved by the tireless efforts and the amendment of the ITF Act in the 2011 and prudent management
The Eagle Online recall that the outgone DG has served the fund for seven years and eight months before the Federal Government effected the change last week.
