Chelsea winger Victor Moses has expressed his desire for the west London club to remain on top of the English Premier League table.
Moses, who is enjoying a new lease on life under coach Antonio Conte at the Blues, does not want to slow down just yet.
Moses has been an important part of the London club’s rise this season, featuring prominently as right wing-back in Conte’s 3-4-3 formation.
Before Conte’s arrival, Moses had not played a Premier League game for Chelsea for more than three years, sitting on the bench when at the club and being sent on loan to other teams.
Moses is a new man now, and feels that he is contributing to the success of his club at the highest level. He wants to continue his excellent form, while making sure that Chelsea remain the team to beat in the English top-flight.
‘The Premier League is harder every season, so we just want to make sure we stay on top now,’ Moses admitted.
‘We showed a lot of character against Middlesbrough. In the second half they came at us but we were really strong at the back. I’m delighted to be in the first 11. I just want to keep on enjoying my form,’ the Nigerian added.
‘I’ve been on loan three times, but we’ve got a good manager here who wants to give the young players a chance, so I just want to stay in the starting 11 now.’
His resurgence is a direct result of the confidence shown in him by the Italian manager, and the Nigerian national team has benefitted from his new found form with great performances in 2018 World Cup qualifying.
