The public car park at the International Terminal of Murtala Mohammed Airport has been relocated to a temporary parking facility located between the church and the mosque along the airport access road.
The car park, which is about 800 meters from the terminal, became operational at about 10am on April 6, 2014.
The relocation became necessary to make way for the construction of a new international terminal, a Five-Star hospitality facility and an Ultra Modern Multi-Storey Car Park at the existing car park facility formerly occupied by Car Hire and Bus Operators.
The new car park features 1,000 parking bays, 24/7 free shuttle buses/security surveillance, six standard restrooms, dedicated bus route, two pedestrian walk ways, pick-up and drop off zones, among other amenities.
To minimize the inconvenience of having to walk to the new car park, shuttle buses are provided to convey passengers to and from the terminal free of charge.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria said it is mindful of some inconveniences that the ongoing construction works may create for passengers and other airport users and appealed for patience and understanding during the period as it continues in its effort to make necessary upgrades in line with international standards.
