Lagos-based MFM FC’s leading goal scorer in the abridged 2018 Nigeria Professional Football League, Kabir Adeniji on Tuesday, said the team would invoke its winning mentality when they face Sunshine Stars FC.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Group A table toppers, Olukoya Boys, will square up with their Akure Gunners in a South-West derby for the Match Day 10 mid-term fixtures at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Motivated by strings of positive results which saw the Fidelis Ilechukwu-tutored team maintaining a three match winning streak, Adeniji, who had registered three goals, said the match was a must win.
He said: “It is a must win match for us. We know that they will surely come for us, and at the same time, we won’t let our guards down.
“We will make them to understand that all our home matches are important to us, we won’t spare any team of our quality.
“I am well aware that they have big signings this season, but we are not bothered about them, we have to prove ourselves too and show them the stuff we are made of come Wednesday.”
NAN reports that MFM FC leads the Group A log of the abridged NPFL league with 15 points from seven matches.
Sunshine Stars on the other hand will want to seek a redemption after a sleek 1-1 against visiting Bendel Insurance last weekend in Akure.
The team is placed 7th on the log.
