A Medview aircraft en route Abuja on Saturday made a air return to its departure point in Lagos.
The return was described as “precautionary”.
The aircraft had 104 persons on board.
This was made up of 99 passengers and five crew members.
The aircraft, a Boeing 737, with Registration No 5NBPB, which took off at 9:12am, landed safely at 9.17am with no casualty.
A statement by the Coordinating Spokesperson of Aviation Parastatals, Yakubu Dati, said the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and the Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau “have already commenced investigation to ascertain the cause of the air return”.
Dati added in the statement: We call on the general public, especially aviation stakeholders, to resist the urge to sensationalise an incident that is already under control.
“We remain committed to a safe and secure aviation sector.”
