In what could be the ultimate sign of UK’s growing diversity and creativity, Marks & Spencer has created Burkinis for Muslim women in two styles of the full-length swimwear, which is designed to protect their modesty.
The product description by the company, as obtained by newsmen on Monday in Abuja, explained that the Burkini “covers the whole body with the exception of the face, hands and feet, without compromising on style.
“It’s lightweight so you can swim in comfort.”
The Marks & Spencer three-piece burkini set comes in two styles: in a blue floral number and a black version with a paisley print.
They will be available at the flagship Marble Arch store in London, as well as from the website.
“Modest wear” has become an increasingly lucrative market in Britain, as the Muslim population grows.
